The 2025 Domtar Rothschild Fishing Contest has officially ended, marking another great year of friendly competition, big catches and even bigger smiles.
“Thank you to every employee and family member who took part — your enthusiasm and photo submissions made this year’s contest one to remember,” said Dave Faucett, the mill’s general manager. “We’re already looking forward to seeing your catches and hearing your stories again next year.”
This annual tradition wouldn’t be possible without the hard work and dedication of our Contest Organizing Committee — Ed Vruwink, Dan Vils, Adam Seehafer, Scott Grow, Travis Suchon, Tim Ravey, Samantha Schmid, Josh Allman and Jonny Lane.
From coordinating registration and verifying measurements to managing rules and hosting the final banquet, the committee’s teamwork ensured the contest ran smoothly and provided plenty of fun for all participants.
This year also saw a record 42 youth entries, the highest since the contest began. Every young angler received a special fishing trophy to commemorate their participation — proof that the next generation of fishers is already hooked.
