The City of Nekoosa officially opened the Kautzer Park Pavilion with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on May 12, marking the completion of a major centerpiece for the local recreation area.
The project was made possible via a $100,000 donation from the Domtar Nekoosa Mill in 2024. The contribution supported the city’s multi-year effort to modernize the park and create a more inviting space for area families.

The new pavilion offers a shaded retreat for visitors enjoying the park’s existing amenities, which include a splash pad, skate park and baseball diamonds. Designed for community use, the building features a kitchen and restrooms to support gatherings and local events.

City officials noted the pavilion is the latest in a series of upgrades intended to make Kautzer Park more user-friendly.
