Domtar’s Nekoosa Mill employees celebrated Earth Day by partnering with local students for environmental education and community cleanup events.
The Nekoosa Connectors visited Humke Elementary to read to 65 kindergartners, provide each student with a book and help the children create pollinator seed balls to take home.
Volunteers from the mill included Brandon Acker, Stephanie Bohm, Troy DeLaet, David Gilbert, Drew Johnson, Ginny Johnson, Piper Letak, Scott Linzmeier, Kyle Oleson and Kelly Olinyk.
In addition, Nekoosa employees teamed with 30 Nekoosa High School juniors to clean up a stretch of highway along the Wisconsin River. The Adopt-A-Highway effort demonstrates the mill’s commitment to fostering environmental stewardship in the community.
